Personal Philosophy
I draw inspiration from my personal experiences when I hunt for new ideas. I find creativity in my distinctive interests and life, best and worst times. I was inspired by difficult situations, impossible decisions, and gut-wrenching actions that felt like taking a stab through the heart. But the range of ordeals and escapades has made me stronger and more independent of how I look at the world.
At every turn, I have seen how photography has changed me by challenging my limits, pushing me to think unconventionally, letting go of my anxieties, and trusting my instincts. It has made me see things from a different angle and how the perspective can be manipulated and altered, creating something that makes you give it a second glance. Adding the idea of mystery to life and what it holds can make the possibility for creativity far more captivating than ever.
As a newspaper photographer, I find my angle in every story I take, and it allows me to gain the perspective needed to make the image as important as the article itself. I believe that by being behind the lens, I am telling the story through my imagery, which pushes me to be courageous in search of new experiences in everyday life, no matter how small. It’s the little things that can make the biggest difference.
In my view, the lesser feats and occurrences can make as much of an impact and can help center yourself in your thoughts and opinions. Whether it’s a detail in a photograph or when taking a moment to witness the sights and sounds around you. The world can make things more complicated than they need to be, which is why it’s important to have a clear mind to find the foremost path to success.
