Family of Shards

Over these last few weeks, I have been experimenting with old photos of my family that I came across. Some I never saw when I was young, and some from even before my eyes opened for the first time. This series came from the hope of portraying my family through my point of view, not in the way others wish for me to see it. It is a reminder of those who are still with me today and the ones who are no longer here. It includes somewhat of a time bounce, where my life shifts from the now to the more recent and distant past when my mind and soul were still small and innocent, topped with the smile of a child. I wanted to experiment with the aspects of color theory combined with the gum pigmentation process to enhance the color base as if they are, moments in time, stained in shards of glass.
