London Calling
Growing up watching movies like James Bond and hearing many stories of European adventures from family, I always dreamed of traveling to vast regions outside the U.S. And last summer, I finally got the chance when my Dad and I took a trip together to explore the busy streets of London. This series consists of photos taken throughout the trip of some of the cities’ iconic sites. This series was intended to illustrate the idea that the great city of London isn’t always dull, gray, and rainy as the movies and books assume it is. Adding in the spurs of color over the images creates a more captivating approach to the full embodiment of the photo itself. It was inspired by the images taken while touring around London and the memories they represent. Throughout this trip, I also got to see a different side of my Dad, such as when we’d work together in navigating the underground as a team and how he'd share stories and knowledge of the vast city from his ventures in London from over 40 years when he was just a kid. Not having a complete set plan and just playing it by ear can make the thought of what comes next far more exciting than expected.
