Ore Overload
Experimenting with the foundations of color theory and the world of mineral photography, I dug deep into the underlying facades of unique crystal and mineral specimens. The idea came from the passion and focal perspective of professional mineral photographer Jeff Scovil. Scovil’s interest in minerals through his photography reflected my own, sparking the objective to build upon it. Like Scovil, I utilized the symmetry, color variation, and abstract nature of these minerals, designing a unique atmosphere for each one. The setup and detailed focus of the photographs draw the viewer in through the shapes and lines that form the mineral’s structure.
